Ah Colin, I feel for you--and my best earnest wish for you is that you may find that there are endless varieties of souls out there of all dispositions who will defy your every preconception. If I could offer a few thoughts (and skimming your catalog of articles, I'm guessing much of this is in your sphere of thinking already):

Focus on your own growth and your own sense of peace. Be selective about who you invest your energy in; patience is almost always worthwhile. Don't give in to that temptation to generalize people (which I think this article does, unfortunately). Trying to see the best in people, not gullibly but with hope and optimism, which will usually lead you to greater happiness, in my experience. I cherish the several women in my life in all of their greatly varied ages and relationship experiences, but getting this balance and perspectivce has taken time and experience and intentionality. And I love the fact that I still have so much to learn. I didn't particularly love this article, but I enjoyed very much that you are writing and engaging with the world and are doing the work to seek understanding. Happy to follow.

Musing and writing about sexuality and ethics. I think I made $8.75 last year from Medium. I’m not here for the money. I’m here to explore and engage.
