Being dismissive and combative isn't something to aspire to, in my opinion. This is sort of Mark's point.
If you expect others to want to ask questions about your position, I think there are better ways to write to invite dialogue.
To be fair to you, maybe there is a cultural difference here. Maybe discourtesy looks different to your eyes than mine. And perhaps your perspective is from Indian rather than Western civilization, from which Mark is making his arguments. I will say that by many academic standards here in the US, holding Kipling (who was admittedly a brilliant storyteller) up as a model for a proper masculine relationship with the world is a choice many would question. Though maybe that's your point.
