Given all you claim has happened to you, I find it especially poignant that you still have empathy to make this point: "attacking Donegan for creating the possibility of false claims ignores the failures of established power structures that shielded abusers and made the list necessary". I agree.

I do think an unfortunate polarizing effect happens in politics and along specific fault lines between opposing sides on an issue. Nuance, moderation, and empathy tend to all get lost when that happens. I think it would also help immensely if as a culture we could stop the immature characterizations of people as "good" vs "bad" (or worse "evil") and instead recognize acts as good/bad, worthy/unworthy.

I will be candid in that I do not condone or agree with some things you have written elsewhere but I think this article is a good read for anyone with an open-mind about complex issues. Claps.
