I always try to celebrate the underdog, the person who challenges a prevailing headwind. But in this case, I think arguing for authentic positivity in the PUA arena is a bit like pissing into those same headwinds. If this was genuine then two things would change: it would have a new name and no longer be associated in any way with “pick up” anything, and it would have self-improvement as its central goal, not attraction of mates. I can probably find a couple of genuinely positive things that each of the world’s worst tyrants accomplished, but that doesn’t mean we should try to defend tyranny. My gentle advice: let PUA go, it needs to die.
