I can't help but find the irony that you call the author "unhinged" in response to an article about an unhinged murderer. But setting aside the familiar ad hominem flailing between right and left, I think your argument is summarized as: rather than focus on this quadruple murder (which I think the author is making emblematic of the hundreds of others committed by similar angry, white, religiously-influenced murderers), you want us to instead focus on black violent crime and not defunding the police. And you believe asking questions about how gun violence and religion might play a part in these tragedies is misleading. Is that accurate? By your refocusing of the argument, are you basically saying maintain the status quo and do nothing? What would you offer as a solution to specific kind of violent serial murderer crime she is talking about (which are overwhelmingly committed by men, and the far majority of whom are white)? Do you have any empathy for the victims of this horrifying murder? (I'm asking because you didn't display any). What actions does this story galvanize you to? Or are you already inured to this sort of weekly incident? Do you honestly believe access to guns, both legally and illegally, is not a problem in our country? And if so, what's your plan? Angry aspersions and redirection seem to me to be more part of the problem than part of the solution, and I'm hopeful you have more than that to give.
