I have to say, this strikes me as disingenuous. To me, your initial response read as dismissive of the entire piece, and a snarky attempt at a "gotcha"--and Elle being Elle she called you to task for it. If you were genuinely interested in learning about something that "fascinates" you from someone experienced in it, I think you would've taken a different tone.

If I've mistaken you, and you are genuinely interested, I personally would recommend you to the book "More Than Two" by Rickert and Veaux which lays out many of these same key concepts that Elle is sharing.
