I love the story of the DJ and your vulnerable, human processing of it. My guess is that despite his posturing he was probably the unsure young man at heart that many of us become in the shining light of a beautiful woman. And perhaps particularly more true in the face of your clear experience with men. The ones who judge and stigmatize the stripper or whore often are the ones most fascinated by their freedom and attuned sexuality, while they are also intimidated and frightened by it. None of that (if my assumptions are even true) excuse the hurtful message, to be clear, but I do find myself wondering what his story was, and why he was unable to genuinely appreciate and honor the beautiful experience the two of you shared up to that point.

I have no apologies for loving, and being loved by a stripper or sex worker, as has happened to me in my past, and may again in my future. Once you've learned to see them for the multi-faceted people they often are, and their sexual assertiveness as a gift to be appreciated, you don't go back to that fearful, uncertain mindset. Thanks for sharing this!
