The more "other" someone seems the easier it is to make them one-dimensional. Women are reduced to money-grubbing sex objects and the men are reduced to sex-starved financial objects. We men have the privilege of holding the economic power in this dynamic, so this rightly becomes emblematic for patriarchal abuses of all sorts.
