This is just a bad article, Jaron. You spend paragraphs building up your (ostensible?) outrage to basically end up saying "I disagree that Jemele Hill has the right to decide to end her pregancy in favor of protecting her career." Then you support your anger over this "big reveal" by just re-stating all of your assumptive thinking, without a single insight or consideration that might cause a reasonable, open-minded pro-choice advocate to reconsider their point-of-view. For example here is one I would put to you: isn't one difference between a fetus and a child the fact that one has consciousness?

If I had one suggestion I would wish for you: spend more time in conversation with intelligent, independent women, especially those who have a different life experience, who are most directly affected by the overturning of Roe. Your story lacks the thing I think is most missing in public discourse today: empathy.

I hope you find a better way.
