Well said! The women in my life are mostly feminists to some degree, and mostly savvy dressers as well. That said, I can see how women might object to being considered "decorative". The word has a passive and visual-only quality to it--as if relegating the wearer to being a mere ornament. Though I entirely agree with your thesis and applaud it. Give me women whose style imparts flair, festivity, and joy any day--with a special nod to a little boldness in challenging convention.
